The Buddy Ministry of New Song Church and the North Dakota State Council on Developmental Disabilities bring you the first annual One Able Body Conference hosted at Century Baptist Church on Thursday, September 27th! Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. The conference will conclude at 4:30 p.m. Breakfast and lunch is included in the $30 attendance fee. The goal of this conference is to educate and equip ministry leaders, of all denominations, about disability. The scripture guiding this conference is 1 Cor 12:12-26. The body of Christ is made up of many members. Each member is uniquely gifted, equally honored, and a contribution to the wholeness of Christ’s church.
Come learn from Ellen Stumbo, of Disability Matters, and a contributor of The Mighty. She will teach about the 5 stages of disability attitudes, (ignorance, pity, caring, friendship, and co-laborers) and the theology of disability. Other topics include peer leadership and special needs adoption. Hear testimony from people with disabilities and learn about existing community resources. Leave with tools to be inclusive and carry out the mission of wholeness in the church.
There are scholarships available. Contact the New Song Church office and request one: (701) 258-5683
