About New Song

Pastor Kurt Chaffee has been the senior pastor since 2011. Before that, he was the associate pastor and youth pastor starting in 1994. He is also a chaplain for the Crisis Care chaplaincy for first responders, the Bismarck Bobcats hockey team, and the Bismarck Larks baseball team.

Kurt has been married to his beautiful wife Lisa since 1996 and has 5 children, two of whom are married, and has 2 grandchildren.

Pastor Michael Epperson was raised in Washington State and has followed Jesus for most of his life, serving in ministry for over 13 years. At 19, he moved to Los Angeles to study pastoral ministry, eventually landing in Bismarck, ND. He's been an Assisting Pastor at New Song Church since 2015, overseeing spiritual formation, youth, and young adults.

Married to Karlee since 2021, they recently welcomed their first child. Michael enjoys time with family, playing softball and basketball, and cheering for the Seattle Mariners and Seahawks with their dog, Abby.

Pastor Krista Erickson serves as the Children's Pastor and Child Care Center Director. She has been on staff at New Song Church since 2010. She and her husband Mike have three boys.

Her passion for working with children started at a young age when she would ask to get out of her own Sunday School class to help her mom with the younger children.

Pastor Travis Kadrmas has served in ministry for over 27 years. Originally from Dickinson, North Dakota, he gave his life to Christ in 1993 and joined New Song Church in Bismarck in 1998. Now, as Connections Pastor, he helps others discover their God-given gifts and purpose.

His favorite verse, James 4:10, reflects his heart for humility and growth. Travis enjoys worship through music, cheering on the Las Vegas Raiders, and spending time with his golden retriever, Barnabas.

Pastor Michael Erickson was saved in 2004. Since then, he and his wife, both licensed pastors, have loved serving in ministry together. They have three energetic boys and are active at New Song Church.

Michael oversees Club Radio as station manager, helps with church cleaning, and volunteers in the kids' ministry with his wife. Passionate about empowering others, he invites anyone interested in radio to join the mission of making a difference through Club Radio.

Chantelle Zika serves as our Worship Leader and has a deep passion for ushering others into God's presence. Whether she's on stage or working behind the scenes, Chantelle is committed to helping people encounter Jesus through worship.

She's been married to her husband, Matt, for eight years and is the proud mom of three amazing kids. In her (limited) free time, she enjoys coaching her daughter's fast-pitch softball team, soaking up the sun, and growing her small business.
